Our Story
It started with one moment seeing a student about to miss prom simply because they couldn’t afford it.
Adrian Perkins Sledge saw firsthand how something that should be a joyful, once in a lifetime experience was out of reach for some students. Instead of accepting that, she decided to do something about it.
What started with helping one student quickly turned into something much bigger.
Through the Prom Closet, students are provided with free dresses, suits, and accessories so they can attend prom with confidence, dignity, and pride just like everyone else.
But the mission didn’t stop there.
As more needs became visible, the foundation expanded to support youth and families with school supplies, meals, and essential resources all with the goal of making sure no child feels left out or overlooked.
Today, the Diamond & King Foundation continues to grow through community support, partnerships, and a shared belief that every child deserves to feel seen, included, and celebrated.
What started with one student has now impacted hundreds and with your support, we’re just getting started.
